The next club meeting is at 1 O’clock, this Sunday, 13th September, at the Masterton Croquet Club.

Seeing as we had such a blast with it the last time, I will be bringing along DUNE.

This game is for between 3 to 6 players with players representing the houses /factions that fought for dominance of the Spice Planet.

We will play the basic game plus the optional rules that give a lot of flavour to the game. We will keep the combat system of the basic game as the advanced one caused a lot of confusion last time and didn’t add much to the game.

As always, let me know if you want to arrange any other games or have already arranged things between yourselves.

I Look forward to seeing you there.

At the club on Sunday Jim and Darren played Bolt Action. The result was that the Russian human wave attack washed up on the German lines and frothed briefly before the tide went out. 4-1 to the Germans.

Ursula, Craig, Jim, Peter and myself played Circus Maximus.
My two chariots were wrecked before half a lap was completed and Ursula's followed soon after. Only 4 of the 10 starting chariots survived.
Craig was the winner with a fast, light chariot. Rex came second, and Peter's two battle wagons placed third and fourth. One of those was a lap behind everyone else as he slowed down to nobble the leaders as they came past again.

June Meetings Rundown

We have managed to have two meetings this month.  The first was the second day of the semi-annual Distingushed Flying Cup - Craigs Wings of War friendly tourney.  This day started off with two-seaters (all-around fire-arcs!) and finished with some late-war match-ups like Camel vs DR1.

We had a pretty good turnout (including some younger players and a couple of first-timers) and a lot of fun!  Many thanks to Craig and his very impressive collection of tiny planes.

My opponent Darren eyeballing the table while Craig and Phillip look on.  Darren destroyed my valiant knight-of-the-air with some crack marksmanship.

Our second meeting of the month was a little quieter - Craig and Phillip playing some DBMM and Jim and Neil playing a board game.

Patience is a virtue - Craig setting up for his battle with Phillip

Look forward to seeing you all at the next meeting!

Back to Business

Hi there everyone.  I'm not sure if anyone visits this anymore, but just in case there are still a couple of diehards I thought I would put up a post here.

Level 1 Covid-19!

We can play wargames again!

We'll be back into playing tomorrow at the Croquet Club in Queen Elizabeth II Park in Masterton.  Hope to see you there!
