Wairarapa Two-Day-Match, November 14 and 28

The annual Wairarapa Two-Day-Match starts on Saturday November 14 at the Parkvale Deerstalkers' Hall. The second day is Saturday November 28. This is an Ancient and Medieval wargaming tournament. Nineteen wargamers from Palmerston North, Wairarapa, the Hutt Valley, Wainuiomata and Wellington are involved. 

We use Wargames Research Group's DBMM v.2 rules, and play 25mm using 400 army points (AP) unless both players agree to a different AP total. Most games are 400 AP with some 450AP. Players can use more than one army. The tables in the hall are larger than the standard 8'x 6' we usually play on. Players are welcome to use the full width or measure off 8'.

There is likely to be a story on the More FM local news tomorrow (Friday) morning, in the Times-Age on Saturday, and we hope to have a Times-Age photographer there on Saturday.

Marauders'co-host NZ's first Kings of War Fantasy tournament

Masterton Marauders also co-hosted with Wellington Warlords a Fantasy Tournament on Saturday 7th November. This was going to be a WHFB 9th Age event but lack of support caused a switch to Kings of War 2nd edition. I think it was the first KoW tournament in New Zealand. Great fun and learning was had by all.

November 8 meeting

Only one game was played on Sunday, Craig and Jim played a Marlburian scenario using Wargames Research Group's Horse, Foot and Guns rules. Two armies marching down a valley not knowing exactly where the other is until morning fog lifts.

October 25 meeting

Another meeting where all the games were 25mm. Harley, Ceilidh, Jon, Carl and Emma played Blackpowder Napoleonic, Craig, Jim and John played Horse Foot and Guns Marlburian, and Vince and David played DBMM Ancients.

Craig, Jim and John played a dawn attack scenario from one of C.S.Grant and S.Asquith's books of scenarios for all periods. Craig and John had British and Imperial troops under Marlborough and Prince Eugene of Savoy.  Jim had Peter the Great's Russians.

October 11 meeting

It was great to see so many people come to the club today to play, paint, and see what was going on. We had a multi-player 25mm Napoleonic game, 25mm Ancients, Naval, and a painting table. Here are pics from the day.

Dave brought his 25mm Anglo-Danes to play Wagames Research Group's DBMM Ancients against Vince and his Maurikian Byzantines. This pic also gives a general view of the hall.

Alex brought his Orcs and paints. The army is for Games Workshops 40K Science Fiction rules.

Craig and Jim used Dystopian Wars fleets and Criag had adapted the rules to represent early 20th Century pre-dreadnaughts.  Craig had New Zealand ships and Jim Japanese.

Crack's Call Fantasy tournament

Neil ran the the Crack's Call Fantasy tournament at Rathkeale College at the weekend. There are lots of pics and stories (some of them true!) on the club Facebook.

September 27 meeting

25mm was the flavour of the day today, with all games being the heavy metal scale - size counts! The games were Ancient, Marlburian and Napoleonic.

Also, Peter and James brought 40K Science Fiction but did not get to play. David brought along his 15mm Hanoverians.
